The island’s location, between the warm shallow waters of the archipelago and the cooler Baltic seas has created an exceptional habitat, and the perfect conditions for growth, for many different species of fish.

The arrival of huge numbers of garfish along Langeland’s coast in the late spring is an event that even the most experienced fisherman here looks forward too! You can catch garfish from just about every fishing spot on Langeland. You can easily combine fishing fishing for them with fishing for seatrout and makrel, as all three species are often found in the same areas.

It is possible to catch flatfish just about all year round and at nearly any time of day. The coastline of southern Langeland offers great angling for flatfish, but it is also worth trying your luck along the east coast of the island, from Spodsbjerg to the Tranekær Fyr lighthouse.
It is possible to catch makrel from the harbours of Spodsbjerg and Bagenkop in the summer.
