The "Østrig" Beach at Tranekær is part of the Badepunkt scheme, which ensures bathing spots with clean bathing water, high bathing safety and good infrastructure. Austria is located on the east coast of Langeland facing the Langelandsbælt, approximately 2.5 km east of Tranekær.
The beach is located at the end of Botofte Strandvej, where there is a car park with toilet facilities.
Plenty of space and good conditions
The beach is surrounded by scenic surroundings with green open areas on both sides. It consists mainly of sand with a few small and medium-sized stones scattered evenly across the beach. The seabed off the beach is also covered with fine sand with a few small and medium-sized stones. The beach is 10-15 metres wide and around 500 metres long.
