Gallery MOMLIS - artistic gallery in Bagenkop
Besøg den lille charmerende butik MOMLIS, der kunstnerisk arbejder med lokalt fangede fisk efter gammel japansk tradition. MOMLIS ligger i Bagenkops aktive og stemningsfyldte fiskermiljø.
Art with roots in the sea and the heart of Bagenkop
In an old net house in the centre of the active fishing community in Bagenkop, you'll find Gallery MOMLIS - an artistic sanctuary created by visual artist Linea Hansen. Here, Japanese tradition is combined with Nordic aesthetics in beautiful prints that celebrate the sea and its life.
Unique prints of local fish
Linea works with the ancient Japanese gyotaku technique, where fish are printed directly onto paper to preserve their unique shape and texture. The technique originates from Japanese fishermen, but Linea has given it a Nordic twist with handmade paper and natural materials like sumi ink. Each fish is caught locally and transferred with precision and attention to detail.
An art experience with depth
The artworks are not only aesthetic - they also tell stories about marine biodiversity and man's relationship with nature. With love and respect for the sea, Linea conveys a sensitive and sensual experience that speaks to both the eye and the heart.
Visit the gallery in the fishing village
Gallery MOMLIS is open from 1 April to winter and welcomes visitors into a cosy, maritime setting. Here you can explore the original works and have a chat with the artist himself. The gallery is just a few steps from the harbour - close to both fishing boats and fresh catches.
