Kansas City Stompers

Langlands Jazzklub presents one of the longest running entertainment machines in Denmark

Conductor Niels Abild has done what he is always so good at, again as he has done so many times before: the ability to bring together the very best musicians in his band, Kansas City Stompers.
Singer Lady Lynette hails from South Africa and she is sure to mesmerise the audience with her amazing singing voice.

The name Kansas City Stompers has first and foremost been synonymous with musical quality - while the band's long-standing popularity is also due to the fact that they have never turned their noses up at what was popular with the audience. ‘Entertainment with style’ is the label some have given the Kansas City Stompers.

Over the years, the orchestra has been the workplace for many of Denmark's most prominent professional musicians - and at its peak, the Kansas City Stompers played up to 350 concerts a year. This was only possible because bandleader Niels Abild, with the help of only professional musicians, liked to have several ensembles of the same name on the road at the same time, but only for private events. It's not the name of the individual musician that makes Kansas City Stompers - it's what the professional musicians play together!

The line-up has included Alex Riel, Bo Stief, Peder Kragerup, Poul Halberg, Ole Kock Hansen, Hugo Rasmussen, Jesper Thilo- while vocals have been provided by Sanne Salomonsen, Gitte Hænning, Birgit Lystager, Daimi, Otto Brandenburg, Lill Babs, Siv Mamquist and Etta Cameron.
