Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys on Musikefterskolen

28/11 Musikefterskolen organizes a concert with Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys play at Musikefterskolen.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys are a Berlin-based art-pop and "tender noise" ensemble who have captivated audiences across Europe with their atmospheric and intense performances. The band is led by South African-born artist Lucy Kruger (guitar and vocals) and also consists of Liú Mottes (guitar), Jean-Louise Parker (viola and vocals), Gidon Carmel (drums) and Reuben Kemp (bass). Their music is a fascinating mix of the intimate and the edgy—dreamy and drone-like in some moments, and direct, desperate and driven by raw emotion in others. They manage to be both confrontational and caring at the same time.

Their latest album, A Human Home, released on May 31, is a lo-fi and intimate collection that explores themes of belonging and home. The album is characterized by a mixture of random and deliberate remote collaborations, which gives a unique, personal, but at the same time universally resonant sound. Prior to this, in April 2023, they released the intense and lively album Heaving under Unique Records (EU) and Metropolis Records (US).

Between 2019 and 2022, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys released a trilogy of albums: Teen Tapes (for performing your own stunts) (2022), Transit Tapes (for women who move furniture around) (2021), and Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls ( 2019). These albums were presented across Europe, where the band garnered acclaim for their live performances at festivals such as Orange Blossom Special, In-Music, Roadburn, Grauzone, Reeperbahn, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, New Colossus Festival, Fusion Festival, Left of The Dial and Synesthesia.

Lucy Kruger's voice has also appeared on recent releases by bands such as Swans, The Underground Youth and The Frank Popp Ensemble. In June 2023, the band received the Europavox Spotlight Award and Lucy was selected for the Keychange initiative, a global network promoting equality in the music industry.

Looking to the future, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys are preparing for their European tour in November 2024 and working on a new album to be released in 2025. For fans of artists like PJ Harvey, Blonde Redhead, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds , Sonic Youth and Cate Le Bon, this band is a must-see.

The concert is open to outside guests. Tickets can be purchased in advance via Billetto or cash at the door.

The ticket price is DKK 100 (free with annual pass).
