Patina on Musikefterskolen

17/9 Musikefterskolen organizes a concert with Patina

Patina plays at the Musikefterskolen.

PATINA was formed in 2018 and released the debut album 'Dreamcatcher' in February 2021 - after a 2020 in which the band really made their entrance on the Danish music scene. Here, the band was rewarded with a nomination for P3's talent award, played a great autumn tour and ended the year by being told that precisely 'Flammer Rammer' was the most played song on P3 in the whole of 2020.

The quirky poetry was alive and well on the breakthrough album, "Drømmefanger", while a more introverted melancholy was lovingly treated to rockier tones on the popular follow-up, "GENSTART". PATINA is many things, but first and foremost a band born out of the community, curiosity and brilliant musicianship of seven good friends.

PATINA's core is the three drummers Gregers Møller Jensen, Mads Skov Hansen and Søren Bastrup Bojsen, who alternately provide it as the frontman and create an ecstatic shared space where you can be vulnerable with an open chest.

Søren often contributes with the desperate and instinctive, Gregers with the unorthodox and quirky and Mads with his eye for the sharply condensed. Out of the community, where there is room for personalities and all their facets, the band's special framework also arose: that, even though they all have a background as drummers, they alternately stand up and take the role of frontman.

“We have weaknesses and strengths, and we are not afraid to admit that there is something we are not good at. PATINA is bigger than each of our egos. We are ready to put ourselves aside, but also to step into character when we have something to offer," explains Mads.

This is clear in the number 'Flammer Rammer', where all three frontmen sing. At the same time, it is a song that illustrates the band's lyrical layers. PATINA's lyrics revolve around common everyday stories. But lined up right on the edge of the knife. Where fragility trembles, anxiety rages, or love makes its first crack. There is always something at stake. To which anyone who has seen one of their concerts can nod in recognition. Here they grow into a collective of seven, and Soundvenue singled them out among the experiences of the year at Spot 2019, while Gaffa praised their concert at Smukfest: "They are made for big stages."

"When you go to a concert for us, you help create the space. We dare to be there, peel off all layers, and we hope that people dare to be there with us," says Søren, and Gregers adds: "We want to be a band that gives people the courage to let themselves go. "

The concert is open to outside guests. Tickets can be purchased in advance via Billetto or cash at the door.

The ticket price is DKK 100 (free with annual pass).
