Indoor adventures on Langeland

Photo: VisitLangeland

It's a fact that it rains or snows every second day in Denmark. Luckily, Langeland and Strynø have many indoor activities that make it possible to experience the beautiful islands even when the weather is not at its best.

A rainy day on Langeland

On Langeland, you can start your rainy day with a visit to Langelands Museum in Rudkøbing. Another must-see is the castle town of Tranekær. The castle park and medicinal gardens are best visited on a sunny day, but you can explore them in any weather. Naturdestination Skovsgaard and Langelandsfortet offer shelter in case the weather is unpredictable.

Strynø also has several attractions that can be enjoyed indoors. The island's Smakke and Nature Centre is the perfect place to take shelter from the rain and enjoy a cultural experience. Strynø Church is also worth a visit.

Art on Langeland

In Denmark you can find a small number of geographical areas which attract artists like a magnet. It might be because if the light. Or because of the nature. Or because they can find colleagues from many different artistic genres living nearby.  Langeland is just such a place - and has been since the 1960s.
